The usual sandbar day starts with a cruise from Cox’s Landing past the waterfront homes and yachts. We head up the New River into downtown, turn near The Wharf and make our way to the sandbar. Once we anchor, hop in for a swim or settle onto the floating mat before the ride back to the dock.
Think of it as a choose-your-own-adventure boat day. Two-, three- and four-hour trips can follow the same local route; the extra time lets you linger at the sandbar or spend longer sightseeing. Tell the crew what your group wants most, and we’ll help fit the route to your charter length.
Keep an eye out for the ice cream boat on a weekend sandbar stop; it often sells hot dogs, too. A cold treat in the water is a fun addition when the vendor is there. Pack the drinks and snacks you want for the trip, and our crew will find a spot to anchor for the conditions.
Stretch out on the giant floating mat, take a swim or enjoy the music from a seat on the boat. There’s a swim ladder for getting back aboard, shaded seating and a private bathroom. We’ll have the coolers, ice and floating mat ready. The captain chooses the water stop based on weather, tides and boat traffic.
